A few days ago, I was surfing wikipedia and I stumbled upon the article for the kiwifruit, Interestingly it stated that the peel is edible. That came as quite a shock to me, as I was raised to think that you have to peel kiwis before eating them, the article did state that the peel has an unpleasant texture, but I decided to try eating it regardless.
I had some kiwis in the kitchen, I took one, I washed it and then took a bite. The peel wasn't unpleasant at all! It wasn't good, but I wouldn't say it's all that different from an apple peel, however you have to be careful since the kiwi is much more juicy than an apple. The following day I didn't have any bathroom problems either.
Now that I know this, I can get an quick and easy dose of vitamin C and fiber by skipping the whole ordeal of peeling and I believe that kiwis will be much more present in my diet from now on.
